Document Description
This project is the approval of a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) by the Department of Toxic Substances Control, prepared in accordance with Health and Safety Code, Section 25356.1(h)(1). The RAW has been prepared to address the removal of metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxin and furans in soil at the proposed Kennedy Middle College High School site. The contaminated soil is located beneath a 4-foot to 9-foot thick blanket of fill soil. Approximately 6,600 cubic yards of contaminated soil will be removed. Although the site does not pose a risk under its current condition, the levels of soil contamination would pose a risk if the site is used as a school.
