Surrounding land uses include single-family residential, mixed-density residential, high-density residential, and public right-of-way. Public right-of-way includes areas used by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, City of Long Beach, California Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and Union Pacific Railroad. The proposed Project site is zoned as Park (P) and Public Right-of-Way (PR).
Document Description
The proposed project would implement a multi-purpose wetland development that would (1) provide wildlife habitat, water quality improvement, groundwater recharge, passive recreation and education, (2) be safe to use, and (3) require minimal maintenance while maintaining the existing flood control capacity.
