Document Description
The proposed project is the construction and operation of a State permitted hospital heliport for emergency air ambulance flights. This hospital heliport, also referred to as a helipad, is proposed to be located on a 17-foot high platform, located adjacent to the main Kaiser Permanente hospital. The helipad platform would be on the south side of the hospital building, approximately 285 feet from the south property line for the site. The helipad would be used for emergency evacuation of premature infant patients from the Kaiser Permanente hospital facility to Lucille Packard Children's Hospital at the Stanford University Medical Center near Palo Alto. It is anticipated that patient evacuations would occur approximately three to four times per year, per the current average.
