Document Description
In 2008, the Department of Water Resources of the State of California (DWR), Crestline-Lake Arrowhead Water Agency (CLAWA), and San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (SBVMWD) entered into an agreement which provided for the transfer of 7,600 acre-feet of SBVMWD’s Table A Water to CLAWA by December 31, 2020 (SWPAO #07025). The water received by CLAWA under that agreement was to be treated and delivered to the Lake Arrowhead Community Services District (LACSD), which was in dire need of water at that time due to drought conditions and extremely low lake levels in Lake Arrowhead. However, shortly after the agreement was executed, a rain event occurred that refilled Lake Arrowhead. As a result, CLAWA requested SBVMWD deliver its Table A Water to CLAWA at a much slower rate than originally anticipated, and. CLAWA was not able to complete the transfer of all 7,600 acre-feet before SWPAO #07025 expired. The purpose of a new agreement is to facilitate delivery to CLAWA, through December 31, 2035, of 5,495 acre-feet of SBVMWD’s Table A water that remained undelivered as of SWPAO #07025’s expiration date.
