Document Description
The EIS/EIR evaluates 3 program-level, long-term restoration alternatives as well as project-level Phase 1 actions. The District will implement the Project, which is one of the Phase 1 projects identified EIS/EIR. The Project consists of: 1) developing a water quality monitoring, assessment and reporting plant that studies environmental mercury and mercury bioaccumulation in the south bay lands, 2) planning and designing the structures that will control the tidal flows through Pond A8, 3) conducting pre-construction outreach meetings and developing signage prior to construction activities, 4) constructing the Pond A8 tidal control structures and levee improvements, and 5) conducting post-construction activities such as photo documentation, final inspection and compilation of the final construction records.
