Document Description
CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0205-R, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County. Project is limited to enhancement and expansion of existing wetland habitat for amphibian species. Construction will consist of clearing vegetation from the project site, excavation, berm construction, erosion control, and revegetation. Approx. 6 to 8 inches of topsoil and some of the native wetland plants will be set aside to be reapplied and replanted after excavating a 0.13-acre area and up to 300 cubic yards of soil. Approx. 110 cubic yards of clay will be imported to the site to be used for a key trench in the berm and to extend the hydroperiod of the site. The clay will be applied at a minimum of 1 foot thickness to the bottom of the wetland and inside the berm. The wetland will be planted with a variety of wetland plants to improve amphibian breeding.
