Document Description
The project is limited to the removal of 0.125 acres of bulrush from an existing pond and improvement of canopy cover over the pond to restore habitat for California red-legged frogs (CRLF). Removed vegetation will be replaced with a variety of native wetland plants to encourage CRLF breeding. Approximately 0.025 acres of the project-disturbed area will be planted with willow stakes to provide canopy cover and the remaining 0.10 acres will be planted with hydrophytic vegetation. To manage for bullfrog establishment, a pump out/siphon box will be installed for annual draining of the pond. CDFW is executing a lake and streambed alteration agreement no. 1600-2015-0173-R3 pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code to the project applicant, Chris Coburn, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County.
