Document Description
(WCB ID#2015003, Santa Cruz Island Argentine Ant Elimination): Treat specific areas of Santa Cruz Island which have identified Argentine Ant infestations. Pilot test programs proven effective in eliminating Argentine Ant populations will be applied to all identified infestation areas. Pesticide will primarily be applied via helicopter, at a frequency of every one to four weeks between May and October, in 2015 and 2016. Valley Anchorage, measuring between 800 and 1200 acres, is the primary focus of the proposal. Monitoring and possible re-treatment of approximately 200 acres of the pilot testing program are also proposed. Best management practices and avoidance will be used to prevent impacts to native and endemic species and habitat. (WCB ID#2015013, Santa Cruz Integrated Watershed Restoration, Phase II): To remove 120-150 cubic yards of material from a pond along San Vicente Creek to clean it out and regain depth for species use and to enhance in-stream, riparian, and floodplain habitat, stabilize an existing landslide, and improve stream flow along 1,250 feet of the East Branch of Soquel Creek while ensuring current levels of flood protection for two adjacent homes and a bridge.
