Document Description
The project is limited to propose improvements for Molina Pond that includes a year- round passive surface water diversion from Molino creek at a rate of 10-15% of the summer baseflow (per pers. comm. with DFG and NMFS). The addition of water to Molino Pond is intended to maintain water in the pond through summer (August) to support metamorphosis of CRLF. Agricultural use of this water will not occur. The landowner is seeking water rights for a shallow adjacent well. Additionally, Molino Pond will be improved to allow for more storage and to limit seepage through the earthen embankment. New pond outlets, sized to accommodate the design storm, are also included as part of the proposed improvements. Equipment that will be used to complete the Project includes a backhoe and hand tools.
