Document Description
This project is under the Master Permit issued to the Santa Cruz County Resource Conservation District (RCD) to administer the Santa Cruz Countywide Permit Coordination Program, for small, environmentally beneficial projects in Santa Cruz County. The project is located at Reggiardo Creek within the ecological reserve, Assessor Parcel Numbers 063-091-09 and 063-091-11. Project activities include the removal of a failed culvert and installation of a rock riprap roadbed. A riprap cutoff wall will also be installed. The existing road surface will be lowered approximately four feet and gabion sized rock riprap will be placed on the rock ford. Seepage collection structures, consisting of geotextile fabric and graded drain rock, will be placed to capture and direct base flow away from the riprap structure and into the existing channel. Seventy live willow stakes will be planted to stabilize the margins between riprap channel banks and fill slopes The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement, Number 1600-2011-0181-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County.
