Document Description
The goal of the project is the elimination of exotic ground cover on approximately six acres where Cape ivy has infested four acres. The remaining two acres are sparsely covered by English ivy. Arundo is also present. Fence goat grazing will be used initially. The fence will be set back 15 feet from the right bank of Soquel Creek. The Community Action Board's Natural Resource and Employment Program (NREP) crews will cut the bottom two feet of the ivy roots with glyophophosate. Subsequent hand removal by NREP crews is anticipated. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2005-0544-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, James G. McKenna / Santa Cruz County Resource Conservation District.
