Document Description
The Line C - Church Street Drainage Realignment Project includes the realignment and extension of an approximately 1,020-foot long open storm drain channel, located adjacent to Church Street, from Merris Street to Elder Creek, within the City of Highland, San Bernardino County. An existing shallow earthern swale occurs along the proposed alignment, which was historically used to convey flows to Elder Creek. Within the past several years, a small earthern berm was constructed in this swale, which diverts flows at a 90-degree angle into an open field. These flows cut a shallow channel at a 90-degree angle from the Line C ditch, and currently support some mixed riparian vegetation. The proposed project is intended to restore historic drainage patterns and redirect existing flows into Elder Creek to prevent flooding which could threaten public safety and adjacent property.
