Document Description
The proposed project involves improvements to I-5, including additional HOV lanes, bridge replacement, Direct Acess Ramps, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and drainage improvements between La Jolla Village Drive (Post Mile 28.15) and State Route 78 (Post Mile 51.2) in San Diego County. The Project will result in temporary impacts to the following habitats: 0.18 acre of riparian, 0.5 acre of salt marsh, 0.48 acre of brackish marsh, 0.84 acre of freshwater marsh, and 0.1.18 acres of unvegetated channel/open water; and permanent impacts the following habitats: 1.01 acres of riparian, 0.18 acre of salt marsh, 0.58 acre of brackish marsh, 1.79 acres of freshwater marsh, and 0.35 acre of unvegetated channel/open water. Total temporary impacts to habitat is 3.18 acres, total permanent impacts to habitat is 3.91 acres. Impacts will be mitigated through restoration of the following habitats: 0.33 acre of freshwater marsh/riparian and 3.71 acres of tidal salt marsh at the Hallmark West site at Agua Hedionda Lagoon; and a minimum of 50 acres of tidal salt marsh at the W-19 site at San Dieguito Lagoon. Both lagoons are located in San Diego County.
