Document Description
CDFW is intending to execute a lake and streambed alteration agreement pursuant to section 1602 of the fish and game code (1600-2014-0192-R5) to the project applicant, City of San Diego - Public Utilities Department. Project activities within the approximately 57-acre site include: rehabilitation of approximately 20.8 acres of riparian habitat through the removal of heavy infestations or monocultures of target invasive species; improvement of topographic complexity, and planting of native riparian species; enhancement of approximately 32.2 acres of riparian and freshwater marsh habitat through the removal of target species in areas that contain predominantly native plant species and augmentation with the application of native hydroseed mix; and removal of target invasive species and application of native hydroseed within 2.9 acres of access and utility easements. Exotics removal methods include application of herbicide, cutting and removing biomass, mowing, clearing and grubbing, grading, and excavation. Secondary channels will be contoured to include haul out locations appropriate for local reptiles and amphibians.
