Document Description
The operator proposes to replace an existing crossing over Canyon Creek at 104 Lilac Lane in St. Helena, Napa County. The existing culvert is a 48-inch corrugated metal pipe that has rusted out leaving on the concrete. The capacity of the culvert is not sufficient to handle the flows in the creek which causes the water to go over the road and erode the banks. This erosion has caused a dangerously narrow crossing. The new crossing will be two 4 foot high by 5 foot wide by 8 foot long box culverts connected by a masonry joint to create a 16 foot wide culvert. Three footings will be poured in the streambed to anchor the ends and the joint section of the culvert. The capacity will go from 12.56 square feet to 20 square feet. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2004-0419-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
