Document Description
The Riverside Unified School District is proposing minor additions to Central Middle School, locates within a developed neighborhood in the City of Riverside. The proposed project would occur within the confines of the existing middle school campus and would entail the following projects: -Renovate facilities to provide improved accessibility for disabled persons, -Remove hazardous substances including abatement of lead and asbestos if applicable, -Renovate instructional spaces and core facilities, including science laboratories and core facilities (on-site interim housing would be provided during construction), -Expand parking facilities, including a new access driveway and student drop-off area, and -Replace seven portable classroom buildings with a permanent fourteen-classroom building. The new classroom building would be located within the footprint of the existing portable classroom buildings. The proposed improvements would upgrade accessibility for disabled persons, provide better and safer instructional facilities for students and staff, expand the parking area, improve morning drop-off circulation, and reduce over-crowding classroom conditions.

The addition of portable classrooms is included in this exemption."
