Document Description
The project will place fill material into four eroded scours totaling 160 linear feet in the Sacramento River channel for flood project maintenance, in order to restore pre-existing bank contours and stabilize the site against further erosion during flooding events. Only bank located above the ordinary high water mark will be restored, so there will be no in-water work for this maintenance project. Although the work will occur directly adjacent to mature blue elderberry bushes which are habitat for the Federally-listed valley elderberry longhorn beetle, the bushes will be completely avoided and not adversely impacted. All areas where grading or fill activities scarify the soil will be stabilized with standard erosion control practices, including revegetation. There will be no significant environmental impacts associated with this project due to the incorporation of mitigation measures.
