Document Description
The project is limited to the continuation of an existing Arundo donax (common name giant reed) removal program on a 150-acre project site. Arundo will continue to be treated with Habitat herbicide (active ingredient Imazapyr) as needed until the plant has been eradicated. Herbicide will be applied using targeted spraying and only under appropriate weather conditions to avoid impacts to non-target plants. Spraying within 25-feet of the active stream channel will be avoided. Areas of Arundo near waterways or vineyards will be painted with herbicide rather than sprayed. Herbicide will only be applied during periods of dry weather, with 3 days of no rain before and after treatments. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2015-0041-3 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sonoma Resource Conservation District.
