The Lang Ranch Community Park site is designated in the City of Thousand Oaks General Plan as parkland. The site is characterized by several vegetation communities, including sensitive vegetative species, and Lang Creek traverses the northern portion of the site. The project area is within the 341-square mile Calleguas Creek Watershed, which includes Lang Creek as a major tributary. Land uses surrounding the project site include residential, a County-operated storm water detention basin, and Los Cerritos Middle School.
Document Description
The Lang Ranch Community Park Project would develop community park facilities on approximately 52 acres of designated parkland. The primary park features include access roads and trails, a community center, athletic fields and courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, and parking areas. Due to the geography of the site, the park would be developed on several stepped terraces, two of which already exist. Small park areas would also be developed along Avenida de los Arboles and Erbes Road, which would be connected to the main park area by a network of trails.
