Document Description
The applicant proposes to alter the lake and two streambeds to restore Laguna Lake within the 28.5-acres Laguna Lake Park, located in the City of Fullerton. This will include the removal of approximately 2 to 2.5 feet of accumulated lake sediment from the bottom of the 7-acre lake to restore the lake to its original depth, pre-acrating the lake, draining the lake, and recontouring the lake bottom using earthmoving equipment. Fish and other aquatic species will be captured and moved to a Department approved location prior to the lake being drained. After the final grading has been completed, new aeration, circulation, and filtration systems will be installed to improve water quality and oxygen levels within the lake. Improvements will also be made to the storm drain system, which will improve the quality of water entering the lake. After improvements have been made to Laguna Lake, the lake will be refilled using the City's domestic water supply. The new capacity of the lake will be 15,000,000 gallons.
