Document Description
In order to properly design development improvements for the existing facilities, field investigation of the construction sites is necessary. The field investigation will include geologic surface reconnaissance, subsurface exploration and soil analysis. Soil samples will be gathered from designated locations within existing facilities using a backhoe. The size and number of test sites follows: - Entrance Road: A total of 8-10 backhoe test pits to 5 ft. depth spaced at approximately 700 to 1,000 ft. along the existing roadway alignment to be paved. - Environmental Training Center: A total of 3-4 backhoe test pits to 6-8 ft. depth and one percolation test in area of proposed leach field. - Main Staging Area: A total of 1-2 backhoe test pits to 6-8 ft. depth and one percolation test in area of proposed leach field. - Hangtown Staging and Bleacher Area: A total of 5-6 backhoe test pits to 6-10 ft. depth and one percolation test in area of proposed leach field. The test pits will be logged and bulk samples recovered for laboratory testing and reference. The test holes will be closed to public access and clearly delineated. Upon completion of soil and percolation testing the holes will be backfilled and brought to the level of the existing pad slope.
