Document Description
The waters of the Calleguas Creek and Santa Clara River watersheds have been documented to be impaired by a number of agricultural nutrients and pesticides. Various Best Management Practices (BMPs) exist for nutrient and pesticide use, but they are rarely implemented on a scale that creates meaningful benefit to the watershed. The purpose of this project is to change the habits of a large segment of the agricultural community by demonstrating that modifying management practices can significantly reduce the discharge of these pollutants into surface waters, thus reducing impairments in both Calleguas Creek and Santa Clara River.
