Document Description
Exibit and Interpret ten pieces of farm equipment in the distillery, an historic structure, to describe the development of Jack London's Beauty Ranch at Jack London State Historic Park. The exhibit will consist of motion-activated lighting with a timer shut off, ambient lighting in the style of the 1905-16 historic ranch era, and lighting to highlight and facilitate reading of interpretive exhibit panels. An accessible route of travel to view equipment and panels will also be installed. Work will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards and California State Parks "Access to Parks Guidelines." District Historian will review choice of lighting, the exact placement of the electrical box, and choice of visitor barrier design prior to placement. This will insure that the specific designs will complement and enhance the historical significance of the building. DPR wil pre-approve and monitor any soil disturbance. In the event that previously undocumented cultural resources are encountered during such disturbance, work within the immediate vicinity of the find will be temporarily halted or diverted until a DPR-qualified cultural resource specialist has evaluated the find and implemented appropriate treatment and disposition of the artifact(s).
