Document Description
Caltrans proposes to conduct Geo-technical studies to prepare for the replacement of the Lost River Bridge. A total of four boring samples will be taken using a truck or trailer mounted drill rig. One sample will be taken behind each existing bridge abutment within the roadway or on the shoulder of space allows. Sampling will also be taken at each of the two proposed bent supports within the Lost River channel. These samples will be taken through the bridge deck with minimal impacts to the channel, a steel casing will be in place to contain all drilling fluids. This steel casing will be slowly lowered through the water column to avoid the potential of entrapping or crushing any fish species. All in-stream work shall be conducted between July 1 and November 15 to avoid impacts to listed species. There is no potential to effect historic properties.
