Remove invasive, non-native plants along roads, trails, and former timber landings within Mendocino Headlands State Park using hand tools, chainsaws, and brush cutters. Removal will prevent continued spread of invasives, displacement of native species and habitats, and blockage of trail corridors. To avoid the potential for noise disturbance to the northern spotted owl or marbled murrelet, the use of mechanized equipment within 1/4 mile of nesting habitat will be restricted to the non-breeding season. No sensitive species or habitats will be impacted by this project. No work will be conducted in any culturally sensitive areas.
