As described in the Land Use Section of the Initial Study, the current land use designation under the 1985 American River Parkway Plan is a "Protected Area" at the Upper and Lower Beach sites and "Developed Recreation" at the Kiosk and Parking Lot sites. Sacramento County General Plan designates the entire project area as Open Space. The lands adjacent to the project area, on the landward side of the levee, are designated Residential.
Document Description
The purpose of the proposed project is to implement SAFCA's watershed and environmental stewardship mission on the Lower American River floodplain. The proposed project includes establishing native riparian grassland species and controlling non-native invasive species.
