Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2019-0270-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD). The project will replace 29 metal culverts along seven road segments within intermittent and ephemeral streams on MMWD property over the course of five years. Twenty-three of the culverts will be replaced with corrugated metal and will be upsized to be able to convey the estimated 100-year flood and associated sediment loads. Six of the 29 culverts will be replaced with rock crossings, resulting in the removal of approximately 127 linear feet of culverts. Approximately 55 cubic yards of rock riprap (approximately half of which will be repurposed rock on-site) will be installed in streams at culvert outlets to provide scour protection. The project will remove three Douglas fir trees and temporarily impact 0.31 acres of riparian vegetation. The project will mitigate for these impacts by planting native riparian vegetation and trees and removing invasive plant species along streams on the property, over an area of 0.61 acres.
