Proposal by Richard and Deanne Gonzales for a Minor Use Permit to allow for the conversion of an existing 3,000 sf shop building to a wine production facility and the addition of 1,077 sf wine tasting facility and roadside stand (to include sales of walnuts and walnut oil grown and produces on-site). Wine production will include crushing, fermenting, barrel aging, blending, bottling, and case goods storage. The winery will produce an estimated 2,500 cases of wine during the first three years of production and gradually build up to 5,000 cases at peak capacity. The applicant is not requesting additional special events beyond the allowed industry-wide events held annually. The applicant is requesting a modification of the distance requirement that the wine tasting facility be located within 200 feet of the wine processing facility. The project site is located at 7210 Vineyard Drive, on the southeast corner of Peachy Canyon Road and Vineyard Drive approximately 8 miles west of the City of Paso Robles in the Adelaida Planning Area.
