Document Description
The City of Hollister's current General Plan was adopted in 1995. In 2002 the City determined that a comprehensive update of the General Plan was needed to address changed conditions since adoption of the 1995 General Plan to maintain a plan current in policy, program implementation, and budget direction. The project is a comprehensive update of the City's current General Plan. The updated General Plan 20 will provide goals, policies and implementation measures intended to guide development within the Hollister Planning Area through the year 2020. It will establish land use designations within the Planning Area, and will provide the basis for subsequent revisions in the current zoning ordinance. The Draft General Plan will address all the required elements of a general plan pursuant to the California Government Code. Many of the policies contained in the General Plan are being carried forward. Specifically, these include policies related to open space, conservation and safety issues.
