Document Description
The APCD has received an application for an Authority to Construct and a Permit to Operate an intermediate load electrical power plant - the "Miramar Energy Facility" (MEF) - comprised of a simple-cycle natural gas-fired combustion turbine with a nominal capacity of 46 megawatts; a 0.6 megawatt natural gas-fired four-stroke lean-burn emergency backup internal combustion engine; and other ancillary equipment. Construction and operation of the proposed MEF will be subject to permit conditions limiting or requiring specific actions (including application of Best Available Control Technology) to ensure compliance with APCD air pollution control requirements, thereby minimizing the impact of any emissions increase and ensuring no significant adverse effect upon ambient air quality. The MEF will be subject to periodic inspections by the APCD to confirm compliance.
