Document Description
The project is proposing to permit the construction and use of a limited number of alternative on-site wastewater treatment systems. Permits would be restricted to single-family dwellings on existing legal lots. The systems would be required to meet certain operational standards and to comply with the terms of an operating permit. The project will allow the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) to issue permits for the installation of up to 100 alternative systems over a period of three years, or until the regulations mandated by Section 13291 of the State Water Code are in place.
