Document Description
The preferred alternative would entail setting back to north levee of the lower Bear River from 1,400 feet below the State Route 70 crossing to about 1 mile north of the confluence with the Feather River, converting the land in the expanded floodway area to natural habitats, and removing an orchard from the Bear River floodway. These actions would address identified deficiencies in the levee, lower upstream water surface elevations, and enhance fish and wildlife habitat.
