Document Description
The operator proposes to landscape the riverbank from its current condition to one which will allow safe access to the rivers edge. This action shall be accomplished by excavating the earthen section of shoreline and constructing a series of black retaining walls which will produce a tiered effect. The newly constructed terraces will provide space for the creation of flat multiple use areas and a sandy beach. An eight inch rip rap will be placed at the projects lowest point to prevent sand discharge into the river. All construction and grading shall maintain a level of no less than 1 ft. above 3 ft. behind the Ordinary High Water Mark. The project will result in the permanent loss of 0.10 acres of riparian scrub. The operator shall provide a one time payment of $750.00 to the CDFG to mitigate (1:1 ratio) for the loss of 0.10 acres of riparian scrub. Mitigation cost is calculated from the current cost of riparian restoration at $7,500/acre. Payment is due prior to implementation of any project related activities. Payment shall be sent to the CDFG, Colorado River Program, P.O. Box 2160, Blythe CA, 92226.
