Reasons for Exemption
The project proposes to construct a trench or sump on the gravel bar between the Mad River and the North Fork Mad River for irrigation purposes. The trench will fill with water from subsurface flows. The proposed trench shall be back filled or opened up to the North Fork Mad River at the end of the irrigation season to prevent the potential or stranding fish. There will be no removal of healthy, mature, or scenic trees as a result of this project. The project will have no significant impact on the environment.
