DWR proposes to install an inclinometer and remove an observation well located within an existing landslide area (Mile Post 39) within the SBA easement. The work will be completed within the center median of Piedmont Road within the City of Milpitas.

Reasons for Exemption
As provided in Section 15306, project implementation consists of basic data collection activities that do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. Project implementation would not affect sensitive resources. Proposed activities consist of installing an inclinometer for data collection and removal of an observation well that was previously used for data collection. Data is used to evaluate landsliding issue of the area. The project would not alter or increase the conveyance capacity of the pipeline.
