Present Land Use
Land uses in the area include agricultural and urban uses. Existing businesses include an Arco gas station/mini mart in the northeast quadrant of the intersection, vacant land in the northwest quadrant, a Chevron gas station with car wash in the south west quadrant, and office buildings in the southeast quadrant. The City of Elk Grove General Plan designates the area east of SR 99 as Heavy Industrial. The site is zoned Light Industrial (M-1), Heavy Industrial (M-2) or General Commercial (GC). The Zoning Code also designates the east side of SR 99 as a Special Sign Corridor. The project site is also within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), a long-range transportation plan for the Sacramento region. The intersection of Grant Line Road and SR 99 is identified in the MTP.
Document Description
The proposed project would replace the four-way stop sign at the intersection of East Stockton Boulevard and Grant Line Road with a traffic signal. The northwest corner of the intersection would also be widened by approximately 10 feet, tapering at approximately 120 feet north and 140 wesr of the centerline of Grant Line Road to allow for a right turn lane, through lane, and a left turn lane on southbound East Stockton Boulevard. Westbound Grant Line Road at the approach of the intersection would be re-striped to include a right turn lane, a through lane, and a left turn lane. Northbound East Stockton Boulevard would be re-striped with a through lane and a left turn lane.
