Present Land Use
Land uses in the area include agricultural and urban uses. Existing businesses include an Arco gas station/mini mart in the northeast quadrant of the intersection, vacant land in the northwest quadrant, a Chevron gas station with car wash in the south west quadrant, and office buildings in the southeast quadrant. The City of Elk Grove General Plan designates the area east of SR 99 as Heavy Industrial. The site is zoned Light Industrial (M-1), Heavy Industrial (M-2) or General Commercial (GC). The Zoning Code also designates the east side of SR 99 as a Special Sign Corridor. The project site is also within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), a long-range transportation plan for the Sacramento region. The intersection of Grant Line Road and SR 99 is identified in the MTP.
Document Description
The proposed project involves the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Grant Line and East Stockton Boulevard. The intersection will be relocated approximately 650-feet east of its current location and roadway improvements will also be constructed. The northwest corner of the intersection of East Stockton Boulevard and Grant Line Road will be widened at the corner and taper to meet the existing roadway approximately 120 feet north of the centerline of Grant Line Road. Similarly, the roadway would taper to the existing roadway width approximately 140 feet west of the center of Grant Line Road to allow for a right turn lane, through lane, and left turn lane. East Stockton Boulevard and Grant Line Road will be re-stripped in the areas of construction to mark the added lanes.
