The project is an integrated set of facilities to reduce reliance on imported water while improving water quality through the managed transport of salts out of the watershed. The project includes water reclamation, salts management and adaptive management. Key elements include: beneficial reuse of tertiary treated wastewater, reclamation of high tds groundwater, introduction of replenishment water to surface watercourse to improve groundwater recharge, disposal of brines and high tds wastewaters.
