Document Description
The City of Greenfield General Plan process began in July 2003. Technical consultants have gathered data in areas such as traffic, noise, air quality, and cultural resources. The City's contract planning staff conducted an existing land use inventory by utilizing aerial photographs and field reconnaissance. Beginning in Fall 2003, three public hearings and workshops were held at Planning Commission and City Council meetings. These workshops allowed elected officials and the public to present their visions for the future of Greenfield and to discuss issues important to city residents. A draft land use diagram was derived from these workshops and was approved by City Council on October 10, 2004. The land use map shows land uses within the City limits and the proposed Sphere of Influence. Following the adoption of the General Plan, the Zoning Code and Zoning Map will be amended to be consistent with and to implement the General Plan.
