Document Description
A Conditional Use Permit for the excavation of approximately 700 cubic yards of soil (6' deep) impacted with low levels of a variety of petroleum hydrocarbons and approximately 300 cy of asphalt. The work area will be +/- 4,000 sf in size. The excavated material will be contained elsewhere on-site by placement on 10-mile visqueen and treated on-site through an aeration process involving weekly turning to promote biological breakdown of the minor soil contamination. It is anticipated that the biological process and aeration will reduce contaminant levels to non-detectable levels within approximately 45 days. The project is mandated by the County's HazMat Division of the Environmental Health Department. Total parcel size in approximately 40 acres. Site is located on the waterfront between the communities of Fields Landing and King Salmon. The project site is located within the Coastal Development Permit (CDP) jurisdictional area of the California Coastal Commission, and a CDP or waiver is required from the Coastal Commission.
