Document Description
Staff proposes the re-designations and rezonings of Sites 2 and 3 to carry out a portion of the implementation of Program 19 of the Housing Element. This is one of many housing element implementation programs. In Program 19, the Housing Element mandates that the City of Fremont consider rezoning and redesignating land along transit corridors. The outcome of implementing this program will encourage the development of medium to very-high density developments within 1/2-mile of an existing or planned transit stop. Such sites will be viewed as opportunities for increased densities and/or redesignation/rezoning of non-residential land for medium to very-high density residential use.
