Document Description
Conduct prescribed burns at four plots totaling approx. 50 acres in McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park to restore native vegetation, reduce fuel loads, and control invasive exotic and/or alien plant species. Two plots are located adjacent to and at the north and south ends of Burney Creek, one is on the terrace west of Pioneer Campground, and one is south of the Pioneer Cemetery. Burns will be conducted in accordance with the 2002 McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park Prescribed Burn Plan.

Project consists of maintenance and minor alteration of existing topographical features, involving no expansion of use beyond current levels; and the minor public alteration in the condition of land and vegetation that will not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees and is included as "prescribed burns" in the Department of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR Section 15300.4.
