Document Description
SARI is a regional brine line, designed to export 42 million gallons per day of brine (water with a higher salt content) out of the upper Santa Ana River Basin. The wastewater (used water and water-carried waste that is discharged to a sanitary sewer) consists of desalter concentrate (the wastewater of the reverse osmosis process, containing concentrated salts), industrial wastes (wastewater generated by industry), and domestic sewage. This proposal, as part of the Santa Ana River Project (SARP), modifies the particularly vulnerable segment of the SARI between Prado Dam and Weir Canyon Road to reduce the risk of damage to the SARI during releases from Prado Dam of up to 30,000 cfs without jeopardizing the regional flood risk management objective of the SARP.
