Document Description
The Malakoff Diggins Fire Hazard Reduction Project will treat fuels in a high risk (and high priority) area of the park. This project treats fuels over a ~1200 acre area which will reduce wildfire hazard to the historic town of North Bloomfield (in the park), as well as, the surrounding community. This project is also park of multi-agency, greater plan (San Juan CRMP) to create a wide swath of reduced fire hazard along the San Juan Ridge in order to protect the more populated areas of western Nevada County.
