Document Description
The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water (hereinafter Division) as the responsible agency, will be issuing a water supply permit. The Hi-Desert Water District proposed project includes installing approximately 7,000 feet of 24-inch PVC pipeline. The maximum area of surface disturbance is estimated at 14,000 sq. ft. or approximately 3.21 acres. The project also involves construction of a recharge area containing two separate basins. Each basin will be approximately 5 acres in size. Other facilities include the flow control facility which will disturb another 3,000 sq. ft. or 0.07 of an acre of the recharge basin site surface, and approximately 555 cu. yds. of soil (to a 5 ft. depth). The 3 monitoring well and one extraction well will be developed according to typical District specifications.

The proposed project is located within the Town of Yucca Valley in the County of San Bernardino. The 24-inch pipeline will begin at the intersection of Sunnyslope Drive and Sage Avenue, head due west and then southwest to the intersection of Cholla Avenue and Buena Vista Drive, and generally parallel Buena Vista Drive until it intersects with Cherokee Trail, in Township 1 North, Range 5 east and Sections 34 and 35, San Bernardino Base & Meridian (SBBM). The proposed alignment follows the existing 16-inch Four Corners Petroleum pipeline route. The pipeline length is 7,000 feet. An approximate 10-acre recharge basin site is located just to the east of Pioneertown Road and south of Buena Vista Drive, to the southeast of quarter of Section 34, Township 1 North, Range 5 east, SBBM. The recharge site is located on land owned by the District, which already has other water facilities, including Wells #2, 3, and 9.
