Document Description
Under the program, a portion of the vireo habitat within the high water level of Sweetwater Reservoir would be removed. In exchange, Sweetwater Authority agreed to terminate sand mining leases and reclaim disturbed areas for vireo-quality habitat. Vireo-quality riparian habitat would be pre-mitigated at a ratio of 1.5:1 and riparian habitat considered unsuitable for vireos would be pre-mitigated at a ratio of 1:1. In addition, Sweetwater Authority would provide for the long-term protection and management of vireo habitat to ensure that habitat values for the species were retained.
