The project involves the subdivision and residential development of approximately 25 acres in the City of Victorville. The project will result in impacts to Mohave Ground Squirrel, a species designated as threatened under the California Endangered Species Act. The Permit referenced above as issued by CDFG authorizes incidental take of the species under CESA that may result with implementation of the project. Issuance of the permit by CDFG is based on the finding that, among other things, all impacts on the species resulting from the authorized take will be minimized and fully mitigated under CESA through various avoidance and other mitigation measures, including the acquistion and permanent preservation of approximately 25 acres of habitat for the species.
