The maintenance project involves the grading and disposal of vegetation, debris, and silt laden soils from the floors and slopes of the recharge basins. The purpose of the project is to restore the recharge capacities of the Basins that were significantly damaged as a result of the December 2003 mudslides. All users of the groundwater from the Chino Groundwater Basin will benefit from restored percolation at this basin.
