Document Description
The project proposal is to construct a 660+/- foot long, earth lined bypass channel parallel to an existing un-named stream channel. The construction of the channel will include closing off the existing 48-inch diameter drain pipe that leads to an existing pond. The new earth lined channel merges into the existing un-named stream channel approximately 660-feet downstream. A control structure will be constructed to regulate flow so that normal storm events will continue to flow to the existing pond and low flows and excess from high storm flows will be diverted to the proposed earth lined channel. The outfall area below the control structure will be rip-rap lined to protect this area from scouring and erosion. The new 660 +/- foot long bypass channel will terminate approximately 15-20 feet from the existing channel, allowing flows to spread out and flow over the existing annual grassland, which at its terminus will be rip rap lined, to prevent erosion.
