Document Description
Water Code section 1211(a) requires the owner of a wastewater treatment facility to receive approval from the State Water Board for any change in the purpose of use, place of use, or point of discharge of treated wastewater. Under Wastewater Change Petition WW-45, the City petitioned the State Water Board to decrease the amount of effluent discharged to the River to a low of 25,000 afa in 2025, and 26,000 afa at project build-out and thereafter.
The proposed place of use is located within the City of Riverside's City Limits and Water Service Area Boundary and within the Boundary of the Jurupa Area Plan in Riverside County. The City also petitioned to change the purpose of use to increase the amount of treated effluent to 41,400 afa for expanded municipal, industrial, and agricultural purposes. This water will not be discharged to the River.
